Looking for some hpt reassurance...xposted in TTC

I am x-posting this from the TTC forum, wondering if anyone had a similar experience:

I actually pretty much know the answer to my own question, because I've btdt before, sort of, but I'm looking for some reassurance.

I got a faint positive yesterday morning using an Answer HPT with FMU at 11 dpo. It's light but there for sure, took about 5 minutes to come up fully.

This afternoon, I needed to stop at Walmart for something, and on impulse I grabbed an Equate test and took it in the bathroom there. It was either negative or sooooo faint. The thing is, I drank quite a lot of water today, and a 20 oz. Mr. Pibb (indulged a craving!) about 45 minutes before, so my pee was probably pretty diluted. I shouldn't have done it. I was planning to test tomorrow morning with Answer. I'm thinking this is probably about my pee being way more diluted. I think Equate is listed on peeonastick.com as having a similar sensitivity to Answer, but maybe not quite, in actuality.

Needless to say, I'm a little upset/freaked out, after 3 early losses this year.

What do you think? Could this just be about pee dilution and time of day?

I got a + at 10 am, a negative two hours later, and another + two hours after that. All with the same brand. I'm now 24w with a healthy baby.
Congratulations, and here's to a happy and healthy nine months!

I'd say yes it could be dilution. Also are those pink or blue dye tests? Blue dye tests can give false positives. I would definitely POAS in the morning again and go from there.

Hugs mama!

The Answer is now more sensitive than the Equate if it's the early response Answer, just fwiw. It's supposed to be on par with the FRER, so I'm not surprised the Equate didn't come up with a line yet. It took 2 days after the FRER showed up a nice line for me to get a line with the $tree tests which are supposed to be really sensitive.

I hope that helps you take a deep breath!

Thanks you. I haven't taken any other Equate tests, so I had nothing to compare to. But I have gotten bfp's on Answer or FRER and negatives on $Tree, so not getting one on Equate makes sense.

L and K's mommie--They are all pink dye tests. Yes, blue dye tests are evil and should be banned!

babyjelly: Thank you. That is reassuring!

I'm going to get some more Answer tests today and test with smu. I tend to get the best results with smu rather than fmu.

I used First Response Early Result at 10 DPO. It was kind of faint but by that afternoon I also got a 'pregnant' on a Clear Blue Easy Digital.

How did the SMU go? Hoping it's good news for you, mama!

It went BEAUTIFULLY! I'm so relieved! I actually waited until about 1:00 in the afternoon, drank very little until then, and only peed once before testing. I used an Answer test (2-packs were on sale at Walmart, plus had an attached $1 off coupon, so I got 2 for $6!), and this time the line came up in under a minute and within about 2-3 minutes was nice and dark, a true BFP!!!

So thanks for the kind words, mamas! I'm still anxious, because of my three losses, but right now I'm pregnant, and I'm going to be happy about it!
