Tandem Nursing Q

What do you do with the crawling baby while you nurse the older one? I have a 3.5yo who nurses about four times a day: upon waking, before nap, after nap, and to go to sleep. The before going to sleep aren't much of a problem. Daddy watches the baby when I put her to bed, and I put the baby down for a nap right before DD's nap. The other two are a problem, because the baby (7 months and crawling) is always awake during those times. He gets into things he shouldn't. He cries to be picked up. He always needs something, and my daughter has a huge fit if I stop nursing her to help the baby. I've heard a lot of ideas about what to do with the older child while you nurse the younger, but he's so little that a lot of those ideas don't apply to him. Suggestions?

We always nursed in a baby proof room (living room or bedroom), with lots of toys for the lo to play with. We also have a gate that can be shut so baby doesn't crawl away to play in the toilet or climb the kitchen cabinets.
