Walk for Autism

Has anyone ever done one of these walks?
How do things work? There is one coming up next weekend though that's too soon for me to plan a trip (it's a few hours away from me) but I'd be interested in checking one out in the coming months.

There was one near me a few years ago but we didn't attend because they were supporters of Autism Speaks. But there was talks of doing another to raise money for hourse therapy for Autistic kids, but it didn't happen. Bummer. No idea how walks work etc though, sorry!
