cross posting
this isnt a birth story yet, i have to find time to write it all out
to everyone planning a vbac/vbamc, dont ever let anyone tell you that you cant. you can do this, its what we're made to do and you WILL do it!
Jameson Grant was born at 12:31am on 9/25/10, 5 days after our due date and the day we found out that my labs showed moderate pre-eclampsia.
12.5 hours of labor including 30 min of pushing. I did tear in 3 spots (I tore both up AND down), likely due to his 14 1/4 inch head.
He was born in our master bedroom, in a giant birth pool. Am amazing, empowering VBA2C that so many people doubted. It certainly was not pain free (the labor was but pushing was not) but in the end, it was completely and 100% worth every ounce of discomfort I felt... AND the tears.
My largest baby yet at 8lbs 1 oz and 21 inches long. He was pretty sleepy last night but nursing seems to be going well (I do think he may be tongue tied like his sibs though). He hasn't pee'd yet though, which concerns me a little but I think it's more because I didn't have a ton of fluid during labor (I tried, I'll say that much. I did end up needing a shot of pitocin afterwards because there was A LOT of bleeding, but I was expecting it due to the enlarged fundal height. My midwife cut it a lot closer than I would have liked personally but she made it when I needed her most... she, the birth assistant and doula/apprentice BA arrived at 11:30 and he was born just an hour later. They walked in just as my water broke... Which was an explosion, wow.
I did what so many people told me I couldn't. I couldn't have done it without my husband though... I couldn't have gotten through pushing without him. He was my rock, both emotionally and physically (though he did panic a little when I got really pushy and said 'I don't think Joey is going to make it!')
It is so surreal... I keep looking at him and thinking, wow did I do that?
I will be back with more of a full birth story later. I'm uploading pics from the birth and will try to find some non-graphic ones to put up for everyone.

More to come. J is very much a boobie baby and I need to edit birth photos to make them PG before posting.
