Am I refreezing?

I bake 2 whole chickens to save time, eat some chicken and debone the rest. I make stock. I freeze the stock and the portioned out chicken meat.

So my question…. Can I thaw the stock and meat, make a big batch of chicken soup and freeze it? I am thinking not. That is refreezing food that is already cooked. Right?

Thanks for your input.

I wouldn't. The stock isn't really a problem, but it would likely not be so good on the texture of the meat. (I've had twice frozen chicken meat in soup and it's quite... tough...) If you want to freeze soup, do it with the stock, and add the meat when you reheat it. the stock won't suffer from twice freezing

You CAN, it isn't going to hurt you, but like pp says it may affect the texture.

I've probably done it, I tend to freeze EVERYthing, cooked or not.
