Product name: hug-a-bub

Brief description of product: a hands-free, baby-rides-in-front, wrap-around and tie on carrier

Store/Site of purchase: www.totsandbottoms.com

Price: $85

How long have you used this product? three weeks

Fit/Sizing: excellent fit; hug-a-bub is one size because it's a piece of fabric

Performance: excellent!
I have used the facing out and facing in holds with this baby carrier. It is truly a hands-free babycarrier with superior weight distribution over my back and shoulders. Because the fabric is a 100% cotton jersey, the fit is sleek, stylish, and provides a unified look when I wear the carrier with t-shirt and jeans. There is no bulk with this carrier, and it is convenient to put a light jacket or shirt on over the carrier. It takes longer to put on this sling when compared to an adjustable ring-sling or pouch; however, the payback is a hands-free carrier and unfatigued back muscles.

I have worn this carrier with my approx. 18 lb 8 1/2 month old for hours at a time, on walks, vacuuming, at a museum, etc., and am impressed with how comfortable the carrier is.

I am a big fan of simple pouch slings/adjustable ring slings, but their drawback is the weight is on one shoulder. This is not a problem when baby is small, or in and out of the sling a lot (for breastfeeding, diaper changes, etc.) For the long haul, however, with an older infant who wants to be held and see the world from a parent's eye view, this hug-a-bub is great. When compared to a pouch sling, it takes a longer to put on the hug-a-bub, but the time investment is similar to comparing the speed of slip-on shoes versus sneakers that need to be tied. (This is also a good analogy to describe how it's challenging to put on the hug-a-bub the first time, but it gets easier, just like when we learned to tie our shoes at 5 years old!)

Workmomship: I like the style of these carriers so much! The fabric is a heavy-duty cotton jersey, and the colors are stylish and hip. The hug-a-bub logo is on the front of the carrier, which is good--because everyone asks me "where'd you get that carrier?!?"

Customer Service/Communication: I am happy with the customer service at TotsandBottoms.com

Would you purchase this product again? yes
