NPR Talk of the Nation to Discuss Flu Shots Tomorrow

I perused the UA and didn't see contraindications to posting this, so let's hope it's OK...

I heard Neal Conan say that tomorrow's show will have a segment on the flu shot. Anyone wanna call in? (800) 989-8255.

Or email in your questions or comments: talk(at)npr.org.

A CDC rep will be there to plug the flu shot for everybody six months and older, so the show will likely be a PR piece for Aunt Pharma and Uncle Sam.

I'm going to try to get through, but just in case I don't, it would be nice to hear from some of you vax forum regulars!

I'd like to know specifically why they want pregnant woman to get a vaccine that is NOT recommended for infants under 6 months....which would include their unborn offspring?

Why is mercury still in the shot?

And why are they being plugged after a notable Cochrane review has determined that they are ineffective?

Hopefully one of us gets through! It would be nice to raise some provocative points on this issue in an educated and respectful manner.

Last year's segment was all pro-vax

They do also read tweets @totn, but one has to get in immediately.

Did anyone catch it? http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...ryId=130244136 I caught the last half after my appointment this morning. A *DOCTOR* called in and referenced the study that I linked in the OP. The CDC doc ignored the study (i.e. didn't address it) but insisted that the shot was indeed effective. Neal cut off the caller , but the caller did close with, "Independent research would say otherwise."

Didn't catch the show but NPR has always seems very propagandaish to me.
