Preserving flower petals?

I am thinking this is the right section to ask.

I got roses today and I wanted to save some of the petals for my scrapbook. Any suggestions on how to do that in a natural way? I goggled and came up with some things that sounded expensive and complicated to me.

Any ideas?

For scrapbook use, I would think it would be best for them to be flat. You can flatten the petals in phone/large books. Put some blotting paper/tissues in to absorb some of the oil. Give the petals a couple of weeks in there to flatten and dry out.

Are you trying to preserve color? There will be some fading but even just air-drying, roses keep their color pretty well.

we used to bury whole roses in washing powder (laundry powder) and it would preserve them. i've also had luck just hanging them upside down in a dry place like an attic. for individual petals, you can just make a press (easy- just google it) or use a big book.
