It's almost October and today is the first day that it feels like fall in Virginia with a slight chill in the air. I love spring and summer, but I guess I can't complain too much because we had five months of nice, warm weather.
I did see the Traditional Homemakers thread for Autumn, but I don't do anything that could be considered traditional homemaking.
I started this thread to see what others do to welcome fall into their households. Are you de-cluttering, planning a hayride, or putting together Halloween costumes?
I'm looking for ideas on making the transition from summer to fall. On my list so far is putting winter supplies in the house and car when they're being sold in the stores (and not a few days before it's supposed to snow!). I also need to gather recipes and starting baking good-smelling things. Oh, and making stew in the crockpot.
