GS has Ringworm!!!

My GS came home today with a note from the school nurse and a bandaid on his forehead. The note said that he has ringworm! I had never encountered ringworm with my kiddos and really didn't have a clue. I thought he had a mosquito bite. Then I called the doctor and got him in right away to find out that he can't go to school for the rest of the week and it's contagious.

I learn something every day. GS isn't happy. He hates to stay home from school. He is in the process of being DX'd with ADHD and goes bonkers when he doesn't have school to wear him out.

The afternoon Head Start bus came and I had to wave her on. He was so disappointed. He can't even play with his best friend from next door. I found a few computer games for preschoolers that kept him occupied for a while, but with his inability to sit for longer than a few minutes he only played one game and has been jumping out of his skin all day!

Whew! I'll be glad when Monday comes!!!!

So the ringworm is on his forehead? Why can't you cover it with a bandage and send him to the playground?

Ringworm can be very difficult to get rid of.
Try going and buying some teatree oil. Rub a bit of this on a cotton swab and rub it on the ring worm. Also, wash all of his clothing in hot water and dry it until it is very dry. Ringworm loves moist warm places. It can easily spread to his head, armpits, crotch and between his toes.

I found the thing that worked best for me was the teatree oil.
And if you have pets, get them treated. Ringworm passes very easily from pets to kids and back again. If you have a cat or dog the GS probably caught it from it.

Thanks colsxjack, for the tips. I have two cats so I better take them to the vet, too. Geez, what a week, and it's only Wednesday!

Amatullah0, the doctor told me to keep him away from other kids for 2 days. Even with a bandaid he may spread it....that's what I was told. Hopefully we caught it quickly so it doesn't spread!
