Pure bliss when something breaks!!!

Yippee! I get to throw it away!!!!

My son does not like to part with toys, so I am just thrilled when one breaks and I can get rid of one more *thing* from this house!!

Over the weekend, I tripped over the tv cord. Apparently I pulled the whole thing out of the console and it can't be fixed! Cool! One less tv in mantown. DH and I have been talking all weekend about how to get rid of it since the dumps & trash guys don't take them... and then he throws this at me: "actually, I just have to buy a vcr to connect it to, and it will be fine!" NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Am I the only one truly thrilled when a non-essential item breaks??

Oh yeah, cheap plastic toys especially. TV not so much because I know DH would replace it, unfortunately. Even when he has no time to actually watch it and only DS1 does.

Yes I do know what you mean...I have too many plates/bowls etc so if one is accidentally dropped, unless it is a very good one, I tend to feel pleased that I can throw it away and reduce my pile of crockery!

Toys I am the same with, I try not to show them to DH because he will always volunteer to fix the toy!

i thought i was the only one who liked when things broke!! seriously, i do not get upset when my kids break trinkets or whatever from my childhood, it just reminds me that it is just a thing! no biggie, just toss it! less baggage all around.

(because i know my mom meant well when she saved every sculpture i made in second grade )

Yeah, I used to get overly upset when things got broken (mine) but I think having DS has gotten me to realize that things are just things too!

Yup. I keep hoping the dryer dies here shortly so I can have an excuse to get a new one... which will hopefully *NOT* eat our clothes!!! (And yes, I know I "should" just hang them up to dry. But darn it that takes *SO* long in OH!!!)
