What do you do with used tea bags?

I drink at least 2 cups of green tea per day. I am wondering if I should put the used leaves directly on plants or something else? Do you take them out of the bags ??

The bags I buy can be composted. If you don't already compost, you can probably dump the contents into your garden.

We compost them. You can also compost things like the paper tags on tea bags, coffee grounds and paper filters, egg shells, dryer lint, etc.

I bury them in our garden areas (between plants or in the areas we need to enrich the soil)....same as we do with other compostable items (veggies, fruits, dead leaves, paper egg cartons, etc). Used coffee grounds and paper filters are particularly good for the soil, which I pick up free from Starbucks whenever I am near one. (We don't drink coffee.)

I toss them in the compost.

compost here, too. We have a worm bin for our food waste.

Compost

Only my ILs drink tea, but I'm sure that they allowed tea bags in the city compost everywhere that we've lived.
