Rubella question?

My friend is planning to TTC sooner. She is not immune to rubella, should she get the shot?

I would- unless she already had the MMRs and they did not work for her because for some people this is the case. If she never got MMR or has only had one dose, I would get a dose and then wait to TTC for whatever the recommended time is (4 weeks i think?)

I was exposed to rubella on an international flight during my first trimester of this pregnancy. I am very glad I was immune.

I would check titers first...

I was vaxed with MMR up the wazoo as a child and still got all 3 of them. When I went in for my marriage blood test I still showed - for rubella...

If she knows she's not immune it's probably because she had her titers done. I would have the MMR.

If she's been previously vaccinated and is not showing immunity on titers, she just might not be converting...what would be the point of yet another toxic load?
