Perimenopause support ?

Thread Starter
I am wondering if anyone can recommend either a thread or place for support for perimenopause issues, in particular the mental ones.

I am 41 and I have most definitely begun having hot flashes. I'm spending a lot of time in tank tops these days.

I'm also experiencing the "power surge" aspect...in a way I never understood before...and it's not all positive. I'm gaining some insights into some things that never made sense until now - a lot of "ah ha" moments. I'm feeling a definite attitude change along with the hot flashes. I've got a new perspective on the phrase "embrace the change"....it's not just about soon not needing feminine products anymore ! Some things make more sense..that some women make big midlife changes, and filling in some understanding about why having babies or young children in my 40s is a special challenge (my patience is in extremely short supply and I have a 5 yo). I feel different than I did 6 months ago. It's a little bizarre.

I'd love to find a place to chat about it. I wonder if they would let us start a tribe.

Menopause

Female hormones play an important role in regulating all the major bodily functions of a woman's body. Even a just a slight disturbance or imbalance and body functions can go haywire. As far as a woman's health is considered, female hormones are very important regulators and any problem encountered with them demands immediate attention in order to avoid the worsening of the symptoms and consequences of the imbalance.

I would recommend reading all you can on permenopause at the Women to Women site... Perimenopause — the beginning of hormonal change Holistic and well-researched, gives a good run down of symptoms, plus they offer an at-home/phone menopause support program. I heart W2W!
