3 mo. old insists on being held standing--will this cause hip problems? - Page 2

My baby was born on April 16th. She was the same way. She started crawling at 3 months, could sit very well be 4 months, and started pulling herself up on the furniture just shy of 5 months. My middle daughter was the same way and took her first steps the day she turned 7 months. Never had a problem with her hips.

My 2.5 month old loves to stand, too. My second was cruising at 5 months and walking at 8.5 so I figure it's just normal for my kids to want to be on their feet.

It sounds normal to me too. And my son especially loved his jumperoo. Are you against those? I'm not saying to leave him in there all day, but it is great leg exercise for 15 minute increments.

Speaking from experience....
My son stood on his little legs as soon as he could. He was around 2 months old when he started, and he never EVER liked being held "like a baby". That kid just HAD to be standing! He's 7 now, and no hip problems.
