how do *you* clean poop off CDs?

My son is 2 years old and mostly poos on the potty. We have an occasional miss - recently it's been more than occasional - and I am in 1st trimester pregnancy now so it's r-e-a-l-l-y gross to me! You understand, I'm sure! We have always cleaned poo off the cloth dipes by scraping it off with a spoon, wiping spoon off with toilet paper, and dumping in toilet. Then scrub in sink, soak in Bac-out, throw in bucket with vinegar water, and it's great. I need help with the first step: getting that gnarly poop off the dipes without throwing up every time! The spoon thing is just revolting to me now. The rest of it I'm totally okay with.

So, how do you get the first round of poop off your cloth dipes?

Thanks!

I do it in the tub, while wearing a pair of rubber gloves. If I don't want to mess the tub, I rinse it in a bucket of water, and continue to pour the water in the toilet until the diaper is rinsed clean. It's a pain in the butt! So yeah, mostly the tub. Then we just stick it in the wet bag.

Not sure if that would help you out though... blech, things grossed me out SO much when I was pregnant! I don't know how I'll do it if I get pregnant while DS is still in diapers. Luckily, DH doesn't mind cleaning the dipes. Thank God.

We use flushable diaper liners, and it's usually always contained in that so I throw it in the toilet and flush. That might help you deal with it less, especially at this stage! (I am also pregnant and the poop smells are not nice!)

I tried liners, i tried scraping, i tried dunking. But I seriously love my diaper sprayer. Cant believe i went this long without it. Its fast, its easy and i dont have to touch it. Rinse off the chunks and dump the dipe in the pail. I dont scrub or soak or any of that.

What's a diaper sprayer and where do you get one? Where do you spray the chunks? Into toilet? sink? if sink, doesn't it clog up? totally confused - never heard of this before, but sounds great!

As I said to another poster, This is why God invented the Minishower. I got mine years ago from Katie's Kisses. It attaches to the toilet--my non-handy dh installed it in just a few minutes--and you spray all the poop into the toilet, where it's supposed to go. I don't know how people use cloth diapers without one.

Diaper Sprayer and flushable liners were our best bet.

A lot of the online diaper retailers carry diaper sprayers. I got mine from kellys closet. Its a 5 minute install if you dont break anything. You spray all the poo into the toilet, drop the dipe into the pail, flush and done.
