Nursing Mamas TTC October - Page 3

Daisy - Thanks for the encouragement. You are very right. My O date could be a lot worse! I think I'm extra antsy since it's my first cycle back TTC. Somehow I'm hoping that my break magically did the trick and that this will be it for me!

Wendlynnn - You're definitely not out until AF shows. Sometimes a test just doesn't pick up on it right away. If you're still waiting for AF tomorrow, I'd retest.

Naturallyspeaking - I've never tandem nursed. I know women who have and they are able to keep up with things. I think mamaw/two made a great point with the healthy eating and supplements.

AFM: My temp was way down this morning despite forgetting to temp and temping after I'd been awake and up and around for an hour. Should I even chart it at this point? I wonder if it's valid though. I had a drink of cold water not too long before temping, so I'm wondering if that's why the temp is so low. Don't some people get a dip at ovulation? I've never noticed a significant one for myself. So I'm trying to decide if my temp is just wacky for some unknown reason, if the water did it, or if I'm experiencing an ovulation dip. Either way, it won't hurt to BD today just in case!

Wendlynnn~ your chart looks great. What test did you take? maybe take another tomorrow or tuesday.

SoCaliMommy - congratulations!!! I was so hoping this was it for you! I was out of town and away from internet and I couldn't check up on you until today, but I was wondering the whole time...

Wendylynn - Don't lose hope just yet! You could very well still get a BFP in the next few days.

swimming-duck - Personally, I would discard the temp today. If I talk a bit to my DH before getting out of bed and it's a cold morning, my temp will be abnormally low. I would think that drinking cold water would do the same. But my experience may not be the same as yours!

I think I *might* have ovulated yesterday, but I'm not sure (I'd say I'm about 50% sure at this point, and a high temp tomorrow will help my confidence). I never got a blaringly positive OPK, but I could only test with FMU and then again at about 11 pm or midnight, so theoretically, I could have missed the big surge in the middle of the day. Both OPKs on Friday looked barely positive while wet, but then when they dried they looked barely negative. I don't know if what they do when dry means anything--does anyone have any ideas? The other thing about the OPKs on Friday was that the test line came up dark about as fast as the control did. Even when I've had ones that got close to positive in the last few months, the test line came up quite a bit after the control did. By Saturday morning, OPKs were negative again. Also, I had a week straight of massive amounts of EWCF and a soft, open cervix. As of this morning, EWCF is all but gone and the cervix is low, firm and closed. My temp was up a bit but not drastically this morning. It's a waiting game now to see what my temps do, I guess.

I used Answer. It's pink dye and supposed to give results "5 days sooner!" Well, no sign of AF today... thanks for the encouragement ladies!

It's great to see several BFPs and a few likely hopefuls waiting in the wings. Maybe this will be a great month for the group.

I'm on CD8 and I had a bit of CM yesterday that was brown and more of it today. I'm trying to figure out what's up with me. Before my miscarriage my periods were always two heavy days, one almost nothing day, and then two light days. I'm on my second normal cycle post never-ending miscarriage. Both of these have been two heavy days and then basically nothing. But last cycle I spotted on day 10 and this cycle I'm spotting today on day 8. Before my miscarriage I never spotted EVER.

Is anyone aware of anything that would cause these changes? Likely scenarios with hormone changes or something? I just wish I could understand it and know whether this is indicative of some change in me that may affect my fertility. I'm only on my second cycle trying (and I haven't ovulated yet this cycle) so I realize that it's not like I have a fertility problem, but we DID have 4 BDs right in the right range last time and I stayed lying down and all that, so it seemed like I had a pretty good shot at getting pregnant but I didn't. I feel like there is some fundamental change with me since my miscarriage and I just don't get what that is.

Or could it just be that I'm getting older? I'm going to be 37 in December. Hmmmm.

sarahmck - When I had my m/c my cycles were definitely wacky for a few cycles. After that they continued to be heavier than they previously were. Some people's bodies rebound pretty quickly. For some women it can throw their body off hormonally. It's really soon still and your body may get back on track!

sarahmck... So sorry to hear of your miscarriage. I have no wisdom or experience to offer you, but we are cycle buddies this month! I hope that things smooth out for you quickly and your spotting resolves itself.

Hard to keep up with you girls lol! We had a bday party yesterday, so I wasn't able to be online all day!! I bought a dollar store test yesterday just to "be sure" since dh says the bfp from 10/1 "isn't obvious" and I was a lil confused and disappointed when I saw another faint line ....I'm not sure what's up so I'm calling my doc today to see if they'll do a beta for me to ease my mind as I'm 13 dpo today. I'm just so nervous I haven't told anyone but dh and I'd like to be sure....

Naturallyspeaking~I've never bf and been pregnant or tandem nursed. This is all new to me , but I will definately continue as long as my doc says its okay and my dd is interested. I'm sure once the m/s and exhaustion come it will be a bit more difficult, though.

GL to those waiting to test

babycakes~Sorry you're worn out, but I agree, you only need 1 bd in the fertile period to catch the eggie!! My dd was conceived from bd 3 days b4 O...no other bd in sight lol!

You're so right! Thanks for this. I forgot that even my DD was concieved w/bd 2 days before O!

AFM - I got my temp shift today! Wa-HOO! I feel a sense of calm now. I know I need to see a few more high ones to really call it, so I'm not quite ready to be moved, but I'm pretty sure I o'd yesterday.

I agree.....shaping up for a nice bfp

Daisy420 - I hope your doctor is able to get you a beta to ease your mind. I've never used Dollar Store tests before, but I *think* I've heard that they don't get as dark as other ones. I'd try another of the test you used on Friday if you are really worried, but even if that is still light, I wouldn't worry too much. The dye level just isn't the same from test to test. Remember, you're still only 13 dpo!

AFM - my temp shot up this morning. This is looking good! If it stays up tomorrow, I think I'll move over to the 2WW...
Daisy - How faint is faint? I know taht any $ tree test that's been a BFP for me was verrrry light until 6 weeks along. Even when other tests were blaring before 5 weeks.
Daisy- I'm hoping for a nice dark line for you soon. Maybe try a different brand?

zwitterion and baby_cakes - yay for being in the 2ww. My temp went up today too!

sarahmck - So sorry about your miscarriage. I think they do change things around hormonally and it can take some time to straighten out. I think the spotting that you mentioned, definately sounds like a hormonal thing. I spot midcycle for 3-6 monthes after getting ppaf back and then goes back to normal.

wendlynnn- Are you going to test again?

afm- Temp went up today, I'm almost positive that I o'ed Saturday late afternoon. I'm glad we got lots of bd'ing in at the right times...so now it's just the waiting game. I've been having a toothache that I've tried to ignore, but it's been waking me up at night more and more often for a few weeks, but then it usually doesn't hurt during the day. I'm thinking I've got to go to the dentist very soon, I don't want it to progress to an infection. What do you think of dental x-rays and fillings during the 2ww? My dentist used digital x-rays and the white fillings...

Lots of us O'd at the same time! Going to be a fun 2 weeks killing time, lol!

Could it be sinus related? I'd probably do the xray, but you should mention you might be pg and see what they say. Maybe they can just do a thorough exam?
Wendlynn~I agree with ff on your O day, so here's hoping for a "later" bfp

AFM~I really didn't want to buy any more tests as my DH says I've already peed on too many LOL! But my doc was able to get me in tomorrow. I'm hoping for a blood test instead of just a urine , but we'll see what he says. My doc didn't have anything open til next week. They'll prob do a urine 1st and if there's any ? send me in for bloodwork. I already scheduled my 1st appt, which I was shocked they didn't make me wait!!! I always get put off til 8-10 wks, but she scheduled me for Thurs the 15th .

Also, still no sxs .....still a lil crampy, but that's it!

mamaw/two, zwitteron, baby_cakes~Hope the 2ww goes fast for you girls!

Greenmama~Faint as in I didn't see ANY line at first and was in "panic mode!" Then after a few minutes there was definately a line, just not what I was expecting. Its not a squinter, just faint. IDK I looked on FFs hpt gallery, and that did make me feel a bit better. I should've just gotten another answer instead of worrying myself :roll. Thanks for your input!

Well, now I'm 14dpo, temp still above coverline. I guess I'll test again tomorrow if my temp is up. How early is early to test - esp if my leutal phase is 12 days?
Based on a 12 day lp, 10 dpo would be "early to test;" however, a baby can implant from 7-12 dpo, and it takes up to 3 days for the hcg to be detectable in your urine. So, in theory, you should be able to get a bfp by 15 dpo, but some I know have taken longer. Here's to a nice bfp with your fmu tomowwor . I'm sure this is excruciating
