Fathers get breastfeeding leave in Spain

I'm not sure what I think of this. I'm all for paternity leave post birth, but why would a man need breastfeeding leave?

I don't really see the whole point of this either. I love that some countries give long bonding leave, but not quite sure the point of getting to go home for a bit every day for breastfeeding leave. I guess they could use it to give a SAHM time to take a shower or pee by herself.

To help out and reduce strain on the breastfeeding mom. I have a friend in Spain who is very excited about this! She's due next April and is hoping she will now have hubby home a couple times a day to cook for her and ferry her older kids about so she can rest and BF instead of trying to fit nursing around her more hectic activities.

I haven't watched the video (I expect it won't load anyway - see my location) but the idea is probably that BF parents can share the "workload" by e. g. the father using that break time for taking baby to mother or for feeding the baby with mother's expressed / pumped milk.

considering that I have a real struggle finding time to pump during the day when Fiona won't fuss or need me for the length of time it takes, I'd LOVE to have my Dh have this!
