So I moved us into CHildhood Years, even though I'm a little about it.

Also, since we've not been super-chatty () I made this an Oct/Nov thread.

Off to post links everywhere. Then I may be back. Or I may have to cook breakfast...

Thank you Jeanine I'm going to try and actually post in here for a change!!

Life has been crazy. I mean, as if being a parent isn't crazy enough as usual...these two boys are a handful plus work, school, life...I'm drowning!

Marty fell down the stairs (all 12 of them) on Wednesday night and banged himself up pretty good. He's got his first black eye . Anderson cut his first tooth last night which is exciting (yay for a happy baby again) but as a nursing mom, I have my dreads about it too which I know you all understand. Holy sharp tooth Batman!!

Oh, they're growing so fast...all of them...at every age...I just wish I could hit pause!!

It's nice to see you here, Jessica!

It was 95 degrees in town yesterday. Blech. Not quite as hot at my house, since I'm 1000 feet higher. But today I'm taking the kids to Sand Pond. It's some kind of man-made pond, which was made for gold-mining. Or made when they took out all the tailings. Or something. Anyway, it's pretty warm (for mountain-water) and there's sand around it (most places here are rocky), and it's not a flowing river, and it doesn't sharply drop off, so it's pretty safe for me to take 3 kids by myself. And the Sierra Buttes form the backdrop so it's gorgeous. And there's minnows and tadpoles in it, and polished glass in the sand, and shiny stuff that may or may not be gold flecks, but the kids like to collect it. It's supposed to be high-80's there (about 1500 feet higher than my house). And since it's a Friday in October (already?!?!) there shouldn't be (m)any tourists So, we're skipping school today! Er, I mean, we're taking a nature field trip, and will also be learning about the local gold-mining history of our area

I hope you all have a lovely first day of October!

That sounds totally awesome, Jeanine! I hope you all have a great time

I'm sorry to hear about Marty, Jess. Hurray for first teeth!

Nothing new to report here, Andrew had a half day which is nice. The kids and I went grocery shopping this morning and I saved $93 by using coupons, and it was during a BOGO sale so you could say I pretty much robbed the grocery store. I'm not always good about using up coupons but I got myself a little more organized and it helps.

This weekend I think we'll try to go to the corn maze/pumpkin patch. We didn't get to go last year and didn't know about it the year before so I'm making it a priority this year.

In addition to entering the childhood years, I think I can officially kiss babyhood goodbye. Laine has started using 2 word phrases. She says "thank you", "welcome", "don't know", and "no, don't!" Having an older sibling certainly helps in the learning department.

Last night was a crazy night.
DH and I stayed up to watch a movie. It ended around midnight when the *crazy* thunderstorm really started. The rain was super loud. There was one superhuge thunder that shook the house. I thought the lightning must have hit something (like a big old rock that exploded) very nearby. The dog was freaked out so came into our room. She dreams about chasing stuff and barking at it, but luckily she was laying down by DH's side of the bed (and by bed I mean mattress on the floor, mere inches from the dog). Around 4 am the cat starts yowling. I go to see what her problem is. The other dog had pooped on the floor and was pacing around, probably trying to find a clean place to lay down. When the dog moves the cat gets annoyed, hence the yowling. So I clean up the poop. Then I let the dog out. She hates the rain. I figure she'll pee and come right back. Nope. I'm trying to tell her to come in, but she's old and very hard of hearing and I don't want to yell and wake the whole house (even though half of us are awake anyway. But I don't think she hears me even when I yell) and I'm not going out in the rain to get her. I finally get her to come in and I go to bed. Jamison's awake and starts chatting my ear off. Something about a mountain lion in the chicken coop, among other things. It's still raining, and lightning, and thundering and as soon I fall asleep Jamison starts again. Ugh. DH and I are both super tired. And it's starting to storm again and will probably pick up in intensity right about bedtime. What a weird weird night.

That is a crazy night! Mine wasn't so crazy, just more Laine who didn't want to sleep and Andrew and I went to bed too late.

Liam had his staple taken out today and all is well, he will most likely have a permanent scar.

I had a peaceful night last night. No lightning, no thunder, the rain was normal not crazy loud, no dog issues, no yowling cat, and no chatty Jamison. Nice.

Over the weekend DH painted Jamison's room. The bottom is light purple, the top is light blue, and then he put glitter paint over it. Glitter paint is so freaking cool! Then around the chair rail area he put CInderella border. He put together a bookshelf for her and was working on assembling her new dresser, but he needs more glue, so that project stalled. I was hoping we could move her into her own room this weekend, but no such luck. But we're making progress....

Hi Mamas!

I can't believe we have moved out of the toddler forum...time flies. Lucy's big b-day present was her big girl room. She is crazy into horses...so I did horse sheets & a horse wall mural and other horsey things. We have played in the room, but the is no interest in sleeping in there. I figure she will be sleeping with me for quite a bit longer...I am in no hurry for her to move either.

So, I asked Lucy what she wants to be for Halloween-she says "a tree!". I said "a tree?". "yeah, Mama...a Biiiigggg Tree!!". Hmmmmm?

Hi mamas

Whew! The holidays were great and exhausting. At one point during Sukkot our Sukkah took flight and landed on our fence half in our yard and half in the neighbors. Craziness. That and I had to try and fix the situation in tornado level winds whilst wearing baby I. and letting C. roam freely in the backyard. And a 36 foot canvas tent is essentially a SAIL so you can imagine how that went.

C. is loving preschool. She's wearing undies on a daily basis (some accidents but not much, and absolutely no desire to poop in the potty, but hey, at least we're out of diapers. In the daytime.... ) Loves ballet class. Having some behavior differences as a result of the separation and influence of other kids, but it all seems normal. Totally a poster child for the "independent attached child" as she practically salivates when the teacher opens the door of her class, turns and kisses me, then yells "BYE MOM!" every. time. I admit to melting a little bit every time I pick her up and she runs to me with a face full of love

Baby I. is crawling! OMG.

Jess and Katie - I hope your boys heal quickly!

Jeanine - the glitter paint looks cool! I saw the pics on FB

STG - Good to see you here!

I'm glad she's doing so well at preschool, Alicia, and hurray for crawling. I can't believe how quickly our preschoolers AND babies are growing up.

I am ultra super busy.

Heather - I can't believe how close you are

The tooth is no longer loose, and yesterday I noticed that the gap made by his pacifier between his upper and lower teeth has fixed itself since we got rid of it a few days before his birthday!

hello everybodeeeee!

Still unpacking and getting to know our new house and town. So far I really like it.
Y. is doing great. FIghting off a cold, but still active and busy. He seems so big now. I hope to transition him to his own bed in his brother's room soon. He is sort of interested but not too sure about that idea.

Sweet Texas - SO cute that Lucy wants to be a tree. My uncle was a palm tree for halloween, once. He put palm fronds on his head and wore a bath mat. I have no idea what the kids will be for halloween this year.

Alicia - glad all is going well with C and preschool. I can't believe I is crawling!

Katie - glad Liam's tooth is ok. We have had a few tooth scares over the years. My dd also has a permanent scar in the middle of her forehead. It's noticeable - but not. Just a part of her now as she got it on her 3rd birthday after falling off her bicycle.

Of course you can join us!

Hi Plaid! I'm glad you're liking your new house and town.

I found chicken pox Before we start visiting our friends, I need dh to figure out when he needs to go on anti-virals. He's never had cp, and has had the vaccine but the titers show he is not immune . I want my kids to get it, but I don't want him to get it. 3 is old enough for cp, right?
