Titanium implants and pregnancy?

Anyone know anything about this in regards to PG? I am having a breast biopsy on Monday. I have what they believe to be a fibroademona - but it has grown. Anything that grows, they ahve to biopsy to be sure, but they think the pregnancy hormones have just made it grow. So they want to put this titanium clip in there to mark it. I could refuse the clip and still get the biopsy - it would just make my life more difficult down the road b/c they would see scar tissue there w/out a marker and not know what it is - which might lead to more panic, biopsy, confusion.

I just. Putting a metal in my body while PG? The breast health nurse keeps telling me that medical grade titanium doesn't leach, but I don't know that I fully trust that. We have 4 children w/ autism on DHs side of the family. I called our family dr that does IV chelation, and the nurse said that titanium is on the heavy metal lab report as something that is chelated. How else would titanium get in the body?

i am googling and not finding much. Except that some people can be allergic to titanium and reject it. Then what? I do have allergies and if I have a reaction, what can they do for me while PG - I can't have surgery to remove it.

thats a tough one! I just wanted to say that I have 4 titanium screws in my feet and I have had them for a few years and I have had no problem with them whatsoever. I hope everything goes well for you!

titanium is one of the least reactive metal they can use, i have some in my jaw. i feel pretty safe with it.
i used to be a body piercer and i can tell you that it is the only metal that no one in my 12 years working in the field ever had a reaction to. i watched thousands of folks heal wounds with it in.

i know you are concerned about slightly different things, but as a metal that is one i feel pretty good about. one thing that helps it be easy on the body is the oxide layer is really pure rther than reactive like some other metals
