Faint test line opk as hpt 13 dpo

Hi everyone. We're at 24 months ttc #3. I ran out of hpts because I'm a poas addict and haven't bought more because I'm kinda getting sick of the monthly disappointment.
I got a faint test line on an opk at 13 dpo. This is a BFN, right? Does the test line have to be darker than control at this day of the cycle when opks are used as hpts? I think so, but I'm hanging onto a very slim, pathetic hope as it's 14 dpo today and still no af. What do you think?

I think the test line does have to be as dark or darker than the control line if you are using an OPK as an HPT. Lots of women have faint lines on the OPKs all through their cycle, you know?

Someone pregnant (I can't remember who it was, sorry) recently posted an experiment using OPKs and I think Answer brand didn't work as an HPT when other brands were, so take that into consideration, also. How long is your LP normally?

Hi, I think you're right. I'm using internet cheapies. My LP is usually 12-14 days but has been 14 the last few cycles.

do you usually have a faint line on your OPKs apart from just pre-O? personally, i've never seen even a faint line unless i'm a day or two pre-ovulation, but many women have detectable LH in their system all the time. i don't think the darkness or anything is a good gauge for an OPK-as-HPT, it's more of a "fun" experiment to do with an OPK after you've already gotten a + on a real HPT. that said, if your LP is longer than ever before and you're sure of when you O'd, why not test with an HPT tomorrow?
