YAY! Custody stuff

My daughter's dad has offered to voluntarily terminate his rights so my husband can adopt our daughter.

(He has not seen her in YEARS, and for everyone involved, this is a very good thing. She will, of course, still have access to him for questions if she has them, and I will happily update him about how she is doing- but this would be such a HUGE and positive thing for all of us. )

I'm posting this here, because it marks the start of the last chapter of single parenting for me. I want to share a happy ending because they are all too often few and far between.

it DOES sound like a win win situation.

my friend did the same thing. her dd now 8 knows exactly who is who. her father does not really want to be a father. in fact he was terribly abusive from 3 onwards till mom paid mucho bucks got a good lawyer. her dd once in a while sees her dad.
