Boiling prefolds

Thread Starter
I have a few dozen prefolds that I need to prep before my baby gets here next month. I want to boil them, because that seems to be the easiest way but I do not have hot water in my washing machine- just cold. Can I boil them then wash them in cold for the initial prep, or do they have to be boiled then washed in hot? If they HAVE to be washed in hot afterwards I can bring them to my mom's, it's just a matter of finding the time to be able to do it.

It should be fine to wash them in cold after boiling. The boiling strips the cotton's natural oils, and the wash removes the dish soap (if you're using it).

GL!

I boiled mine a couple times then just did a regular (warmish) wash to rinse.

not sure if you'll have stink though later on if you can only wash cold
