Triangle Playgroup: Corn Maze!

So, a few weeks ago I got really, really lost in Morrisville. But I did discover something cool while driving around! There is a corn maze! It's technically inside Cary city limits, but it's practically in Morrisville, near Davis Dr and Morrisville-Carpenter Rd. It looks fun! It's quite a large corn maze, and they also have bounce houses, a play structure made of large pipes and hay (it sounds weird, but they have photos and it looks fun!), and a sand play area. It's a little pricey - $8 each for ages 4 and up, 3 and under free. But if you have a group with at least 20 paying people, it's knocked down to $6 per person. Is anyone interested in trying to get together a group and go? I would love to go, so that's one paying person (since my little guy is young enough to get in free).

Ooh, and they have hay rides included in admission! I'm looking at the website. It sounds like a blast! I think I want to go even if we don't get 20 people.

YES!! I've mentioned this at a few playdates lately. It is right by my house, and we are totally interested in going. I'd love it to be on a Friday so N could go. They only do the groups on weekdays I think.

Would next Friday work for anyone else?

Is there anyway we can do a morning corn maze? If we do things at 4 pm, my kids will go nutso.

I'd be interested but am not sure about the time either-for me it would be the drive home, getting stuck in traffic depending on what time it was, and having them fall asleep and then never going to bed that night. I *could* do it if we went late enough/stayed long enough that I would put their pj's on before leaving and then if they fell asleep they would just go straight to bed-Caden is finally transferable most of the time and with Tessa I could just nurse her back down.

Anyhow, I'll keep watching this thread! I also liked where we went last year.

The website does say they are open during the week for school and mom's groups.

"We have many Mom groups interested in attending during the week. We are thrilled to have you! (Children 3 and under would not be included in the "count" of people in a group.) If you have any questions, please contact us."

OK, I saw the part about moms groups coming during the week, and missed the part about their hours, so I had just assumed they were open during the day all week. The section about schools, mom groups, etc says that the hours are M-F, 9-3. Maybe they ONLY open for groups during the week, not just for random families that want to drop by individually, and that's why those hours aren't listed at the top. I will call them tomorrow and ask, and let you all know what they say.

I'm pretty sure they mean they only open for groups during the week. Next Friday morning would be perfect for us. April, when you call maybe you could see if they have an opening then? If so, just book it. I'm sure we can come up with 20 people over the age of 3, easily. And even if we don't come up with 20, it would be $7 per person I think for a group under 20. For me that is still okay.

Taking another look, I'd be afraid to enter the maze if it takes an average of an hour to find your way out. I don't think Rosti would have an interest for that long, and I am fairly certain I am not up to being on my feet in the direct sun for that length of time these days. Particularly since it is likely I'll end up carrying Rosti too.

But the other stuff all sounds fun. And I'd want to go just to see all of you.

If we could get a weekday group that would be great! I just looked at the website again and I think it would be totally fun!! Kind of a "spend most of the day there" kind of thing with all that stuff to do....

I don't get the impression you HAVE to spend an hour in the maze to get out. I think they are saying to allow an hour if you want to see the whole maze and find all ten of the hidden markers throughout the maze. Elsewhere it says that they have multiple exits around the whole maze, so I'm thinking that means you could probably get to an exit reasonably quickly once you decide you are done.

If that is the case, then no problem. Otherwise, I would still want to show up and hang with all of you during the non-maze time, and partake of the other attractions.

Now that Rosti is mostly not napping, it allows for us to be out longer periods of time during the day than before. Last Wed I wasn't expecting him to want to stay out so long. From now on, I need to pack lunch if we go out in the morning.

OK, we went to the maze today. We had fun. We spent over an hour in the actual maze. We also went on a hayride. There's plenty to do.

I asked about signing up a group. They said that they sign groups up for two hour time slots. On Friday, they have a time slot from 9:30 to 11:30, 10:30 to 12:30 or 12:30 to 2:30. Personally, I'd prefer the earliest one. I can email them and sign up, but I'd like to get a head count first. So, if you're coming, please post the total number of people ages 4 and up that are coming with you (kids 3 and under do not count towards our group total). I will email them tomorrow with the information!

I guess I count as 1. Rosti is only 3.
