benefits of late preg ultrasound?

I am debating getting one, yet Ill talk to my midwife about it, but just wondering if any homebirthers did one and are the benefits worth it?

I'm thinking I want to know where the placenta is and where t he cord is. My midwife can feel the baby's position of course and I also know these things can change even last minute so i guess I jsut feel like if I have an ultrasound and we either know ahead of time t he cord is wrapped around baby or we know we are good to go it will give us some peace of mind?

For me I like having the anatomy scan for those reasons. To know where placenta is, make sure cord insertion is ok and that there isn't a reason that a hospital birth would be necessary or heck even a c-section.

But that is purely your decision and what you feel you can gain from it vs the potential risks of an ultrasound.
