That's a good idea.. DH and I did this because he was spending without thinking on the card, so he got a monthly or weekly cash allowance for him to spend however he wanted- no questions asked, and when it's gone, it's gone. That included all meals out and any "stuff" he wanted to buy. It really helped.. it's just budgeted as spending money.

I am SO JEALOUS of Canadian mothers.

I get 6 weeks of paid maternity leave.

ETA: Like the others said, you'll be okay. I struggle with not seeing something I like and just buying it. If you solve that problem, let me know how you did it!

Just wanted to check in- No unnecessary spending since I made this thread!

DH took me to the movies on Saturday- he said that we needed a night out without LO, so we took her to my mum's for a couple hours and went to see a movie we've been waiting for. It made me feel a LOT better. We don't need to scrimp every penny- it's okay for us to go out occasionally to do an activity that we both enjoy (not just me shopping for me or LO)

other than that, I bought some tampons. Can't go without those, LO. Bought the ones on sale, not the more expensive ones I usually buy. Didn't buy coffee or tea at school today, either.

If you are looking for more support, join the No Spend THread! Most in there are trying to only spend on necessary items, and it's about progress, not perfection.
