I'm wondering what you all are doing for supplements during pregnancy, and if you have any advice. I'm taking Megafood Baby & Me prenatal vit, which I really like, but I'm wondering if I need omegas and all those oily things that are supposed to be so essential. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

I have read that pregnant women should get at least 250mg of DHA daily. I use and like Nordic naturals.

I am taking Trader Joes gentle prenatal vitamin at night before I go to bed because they make me nauseous although not as nauseous as other brands I have tried. I am also taking a odorless fish oil tablet with 300mcg of DHA. Odorless is the only way I can stomach it and the brand is also Trader Joes.

Nordic Naturals prenatal DHA
Extra 400mg of folic (just in case I don't all 3 prenates in)
Extra 22mg of iron (I was slightly anemic before pg)

I always take Vitamin D (pregnant or not), because very few of us get enough from the sun. Also, low levels of vitamin D have been tentatively linked to more difficult labors so I figure taking D is a good step to help things go smoothly. I was taking 2000 iu a day, but was still borderline normal, so am now taking 3000 iu a day.

I am taking Natures Plus liquid prenatal vitamins- plus and extra DHA per day.

I would highly recommend adding fish oil. It's really important for many reasons including feeding the neurological development of the fetus and also decreasing your risk of post partum depression. My naturopath doctor told me to take a fish oil with 900 mg EPA and 750 mg DHA. Vitamin D is also super, super important. Personally, I take 5,000 iu (5 liquid drops) each day.

I'm taking folic acid, iodine and Floradix. I also ordered, but haven't received yet, Royal Blue Ice blend. It's a mixture of fermented high-vitamin (natural vitamin, not synthetic) cod liver oil, and high-vitamin butter oil. Very Weston A Price-y. I'm planning to use it for DD's teeth as well.

I'm also trying to eat lots of protein, eggs, leafy greens and red meat.

This is what I'm taking:

In the morning:
*A children's gummy calcium (I think the brand is called Little Critter?) w/ vitamin D. When I run out of those, probably 2nd trimester sometime, I will switch to an adult calcium gummy which has a little more.
*A folic acid, 400 mcg.
*Fish oil 1000 mg.
*Vit D. 1000 mg.

In the evening:
*Another of the calcium gummies.
*A VitaFusion prenatal gummy vitamin. It says to take two of these per day but I only take one. It also doesn't have iron (I can't take iron).

I also eat some ground flax seed pretty much every day.

What I'm trying to take:
Sisu prenatals, 2x daily - just to get through the rest of the bottle so I can justify buying the rainbow light.
Floradix iron 2x daily
Chlorophyll 2x daily
Omega 3's 1x daily
Plus a brown rice protein powder with a few nice, vegan friendly and naturally sourced vitamins in it. It's good for when I can't eat!

I am such a slacker, I guess I need to get something. We have tons of various supplements and vitamins here that I take occasionally, but not every single day. I'd better get on that!

Yeah, me too! I'm really having a hard time with the fermented fish oil we have. I know it's supposed to be better than the regular fish oil, but it just tastes icky.
