Yowza, this thread is on fire! My goodness, where to start...
WaturMama, so sorry that this wasn't your month despite good bd timing and pg symptoms. :hug How interesting that it was your month to have a "textbook" cycle, though. I share your amusement/frustration with having to explain the menstrual cycle to people in the medical profession who really should get it.
Greenmama, thanks for the info on PABA and other supplements, very helpful. I'm super impressed with your long cleanses! I can only aspire to such dedication.
ContactMaya, thanks for the info on ferning microscopes, I was particularly interested in the possibilities for detecting an early pregnancy during the luteal phase, it sounds like good fun (or another way to drive myself crazy). You asked how long I should expect to stick with my diet before seeing an impact in my fertility. According to my TCM practitioner, and to what I've read, I should begin to see changes in 3-4 months. Definitely not a quick fix! But it makes sense when you think of it -- it takes 90-150 days for an oocyte to mature and be released during ovulation. So the idea behind the nutrient-dense diet is to make a positive impact on that egg while it's maturing, and hope that when it's released, it will be viable.
Msgoodbuns, hello! :wave It's good to see you back here and to hear your update. You sound great! It's really inspiring to hear such good vibes coming from your direction. I like that you feel in control. Please keep us posted. Oh, you asked about medical conditions... I had suspected endo as a teen but it seemed to resolve naturally. I also have a lot of ovarian cysts, but not PCOS. However, I've never had trouble getting pg until after the age of 40, so I suspect my issues now are age-related.
Fuller2, thank you so much for the info on the Indichova workshop, I have been intensely curious about those. It sounds like she's human and the workshops aren't some kind of magic, but they're helpful anyway. Are you practicing any of the tools she talks about?
Buzzerbeater, your daughters are so lovely! Thanks for sharing that. I'm sorry that your'e stuck in the no BD boat. Being pushed and pulled by hormones and responsibilities and sleep deprivation and so on is tough and I'm sure many of us have been there at one time or another. I hope you and DH can find other ways to nurture each other in the meantime. :hug
Welcome, alittlesandy, mamapajama, and mamamerle! :wave
Alittlesandy, may your next little one come more easily. Beginning to find a way toward work that you love (or don't hate) sounds like a good path.
Mamapajama, so sorry for your loss :hug I hope (and believe) you'll find amazing support here to help you through feelings of discouragement and sadness.
Mamamerle, congrats!!! And thank you for turning us onto your paleo diet! I'm doing a Nourishing Traditions-ish diet myself, and don't know if I could give up dairy and legumes and other post-paleo things, but I could surprise myself... may I ask where you get your progesterone cream? I've only used the Rx suppositories and hate them. I sense the cream would be gentler.
Gumblossom, I think fatigue and nausea are very good signs! :fingersx
Lovestolearn, nice to see you again! Thanks for sharing your info on the paleo diet and CM connection. Very interesting...
BHappy, 13 weeks, yaaaay! Wahoooooo!!!!! Thank you for stopping by, it was heartwarming to see you pass that mark. :love
Kristin, I'm sooo sorry to hear about your continued stress. I really think stress has been a huge factor for me, as well. In fact, my TCM practitioner is always cautioning me that I should consider my stress level before anything else... she even tells me not skip acupuncture if rushing to get there will create stress. The good news is it sounds like you are doing a lot to take good care of yourself and manage that stress. You're inspiring me...
Saoirse, I also found out I was pg with my DD around xmas (and another time when I m/c), there's something to that. I'm sorry you're struggling with your DH's ambivalence, that sounds confusing and difficult. I hope he can process this and get to a place of greater clarity soon!
BelovedK, welcome back! I hope this forum helps you sort out your ambivalence, it's a great place to process feelings and get feedback, helpful questions, and support.
Beachlover, I'm so sorry about your chemical :hug. I hope it's a sign of increasing fertility. it's good to see you back!
AFM, still going strong with the diet, and have added some new supplements... I'm now also taking Alpha Lipoic Acid and VitaMineral Green (in capsule form, because I'm too wimpy to drink the powder). I feel fantastic, so much energy! My mood is also quite light and bright despite the various stresses -- I'm making a conscious effort to manage my stress and cultivate a larger, more compassionate and capacious perspective. I'm going to try to incorporate yoga, meditation, foot baths, acupressure and femoral massage soon. I just discovered I have to have some outpatient surgery this month (nothing major, and nothing related to my "conception vessel" but still no fun) and my main concern is wondering how it will affect my fertility. We had excellent BD timing this month, but I suspect it's not my month. I'm 11dpo and no real symptoms. But it's okay, I'm thinking long-term and imagining how beautiful my eggs will be after 3-4 months of deep nutrition and stress reduction.
Good night, lovelies!
