Any other Moms' in need of Valve replacement Surgery?

This thread may do better in "Finding your tribe"?

I just found out that my aortic valve, which I had replaced 6 years ago, is deteriorating faster than we thought. This will mean open heart surgery and taking a bone saw to my sternum.
They told me at least 12 years, so I went ahead and had my little ones so that they would be older when mommy goes under the knife and can't cuddle for a month. Well, now I'll be going through it with a 2 year old and a 5 y.o.

looking for other mothers out there facing surgery with a long recovery time?

Not me, but my father had it done in 1973 with a 5 yo, 3 yo, and newborn baby. Just this month we discovered that his valve is not functioning well and he's going to need a full replacement. He's currently in congestive heart failure and had 1.2 liters of fluid removed from his chest on Friday. Best wishes to you. It's stressful, but the surgery is very successful.

I am not, nor have I been, in your position. I just couldn't read and not let you know that you will be in my thoughts/prayers and I am sending you and I have had a lot of friends in similar situations recently.
