Vit. D test from DLS

It's on sale this month. Is it a good Vit. D test? It's cheaper than at other places.

I thought Vitamin D test could only be done by blood in a lab.

Kat, Direct Lab Services lets you order from them, they act as your doctor. You get a prescription for bloodwork, pay DLS, and then take the paperwork to a lab to have the blood draw done.

OP--it's the 25 (OH) test, right? You'd want to read which lab to take the orders to, I think it's Qwest that you want to avoid (not sure if they've changed things or not--user Metasequoia is the one I'd Search for to double-check which lab to go to). I think LabCorp would be fine, they have tons of offices (if you're in the US).

eta: thanks for bringing this up, OP! I just realized that I wanted to test the kids this month, I will probably be ordering for us too. And yeah, I went to the DLS website, I think that's the test you want.

I just had a bunch of lab work done on Friday (5 tubes of blood). I think it has gone to my head.

I've never dealt with DLS, but wherever you go for testing, here's a really good article on vitamin D testing -- including how to interpret results... To test or not to test — the ABC’s of vitamin D testing and treatment

I am definitely getting mine tested this year -- already set up at the doc's office.
