Red bottom: allergies?

DD has had some redness around her bottom for the past week or so, and my DCP suggested it's maybe because we've introduced food. The thing that confuses me is that we haven't introduced anything that I'd think was allergenic: avocado, peas, applesauce, carrots, peas, mango. That's it. Any thoughts?

If she is being cleaned promptly and it's a red ring around her anus it is possible that it could be related to a food. The list you gave....my DS is sensative to every single one of those! So, yes, it could be any one of those things....anyone can be sensative to anything! Is she having any other symptoms?? Behavior changes, reflux, rashes elsewhere on the body, changes in her stools, etc.?? It would be worth maybe pulling half of those foods and seeing if it clears up, if it does, then try adding the other half in one at a time and see what happens. Wait 4 days in between adding a food in, as it can sometimes take a couple days for a reaction to show up.

Other possibilites are a yeast rash if it's more than just around her anus.

Otherwise, mango would be my first guess as a culprit...it's more acidic than the other foods and that alone can sometimes upset their system, especially if she's eating alot of them. Mango and avacado are both in the latex cross reactive family, and for me, those would be the first ones to try eliminating and see what happens.
