How to tell if my refridgerated breastmilk has gone "bad"?

I have milk in the fridge that is at most 4 days old. This morning I went to freeze it and it smelled gross to me, kind of a rotten egg smell. I'm guessing this means that it's bad? I'm not planning on feeding it to my little guy, I just wanted to freeze it for back up. Is it bad or does bm just smell weird after being in the fridge a few days?

Taste it. If it makes you gag, it's bad. Mine goes bad quickly too. I suspect yours has gone off with the smell you describe.

Yup. I could only have mine in the fridge for 48 hours.

It should smell slightly sweet. Not sour or sulpherish like you describe. I try not to keep mine in the fridge more than two days or else it starts to go off and my little one totally refuses it. It might be weird, but I taste it to see if it is off. Normally it is very sweet, like sugar water, but when it goes off it has a taste or aftertaste that reminds me of cheese or yogurt.

You all are right, it's gone bad. I was just hoping that my milk doesn't spoil that early, as I've read that it's good for 8 days in the fridge. Apparently, my milk isn't good for that long. I'll have to start freezing it much earlier if I don't need it right away.
