When do you typically 'drop'?

I can't remember, LOL! But two different ladies at church this morning said I looked like I dropped-- I'm not due for 2 more months!

I looked like I dropped over a month before I had Mae (though I dont think I did until the day she was born when I got the physical symptoms of dropping, such as being able to eat a ton), but with DS and DD I do not remember dropping at all.

You know, they had both been transverse and at my last appointment the midwife said she thought Baby A was more head down than before. Maybe they're just positioned differently so my big old belly looks different.

DS didn't drop until sometime during active labour. He may have moved down some, but there was no definite "drop" or the baby-between-legs waddle, increased ability to breathe, etc., that everyone says comes with it. We'll see how this one goes!

With my daughter, it was about a week before I delivered.

I do remember reading, though, that most women who are having their second, third (5 and 6!), etc. don't always "drop" until labor...whereas a much higher percentage of first-time mamas do some time before....

I definitely agree that the babies' positions can greatly affect what your belly looks like.

I've never dropped early with my other 4 kids. This is my 5th and I definitely dropped at 33 wks. I can remember the evening it happened and it has not been fun! I am 36 wks now and ouch.

I wish I could tell you! It seems to me that I have always dropped during labor. Maybe #4 will be different, who knows?

I always drop between 34-36 weeks.

With my first, I dropped just a couple of days before he was born. I noticed it right away and asked my hubby: his response was something like um, maybe.

I bet the change in position is why your belly looks different.

DD dropped at around 38 weeks. I was like, huh, that feels different. DH couldn't tell at all. She was born at 40w3d.

I think I may have dropped or be in the process of dropping and I'm 31 weeks. I really hope this doesn't mean he wants out early! TWO MORE MONTHS DUDE!
