I don't have both, but I have a Kozy and a friend of mine has the EMBT. The differences are that the EMBT has longer and slightly wider straps, the straps come off the body at right angles instead of 45 degree like the Kozy, the Kozy has no padding in the seat or the head support and the EMBT does, the EMBT's top curve (for head support) comes up a little higher than the Kozy's. The Kozy, because of less padding, packs up smaller and fits into your bag.

i had the ebmt and i now have the kozy. they are both beautiful carriers and so well made. everything kate said about measurements is true - so i won't go into that.
i think of the ebmt as a dress and a kozy as a well worn pair of jeans. the ebmt is alittle stiffer, dressier, and not something i found myself grabbing unless i really wanted to dress up. it didn't fit in my diaper bag so it was thrown into my car on the seat alot.
the kozy though is one that i grab alot - it is soooo soft, so much more "foldable" and nice and casual - very comfortable. i got the kozy with the pocket and i love it too!

i dont think so - the kozy's straps aren't as padded as the ebmt - so that may make a difference. also - talking to another mama - she said that the kozy's back is now higher to provide more support (the ebmt has a nice high one too) what is good about the ebmt is that because of the longer straps - you can tie them behind the baby's back and still have enough to bring the straps around the mom's front - thus bringing the baby closer to mom's back. with the kozy - you really have to be a thinner momma or be wearing a light shirt to do this. it only really works with the straps being tied under the baby's butt.
neither tying method makes the carrier more or less secure - its just that a baby tight against mom's back may put less strain than a baby able to lean back alittle. to avoid back pain - you really have to have the shoulder straps pulled tight - then you are fine regardless of which one you use.
man i hope i made sense

Thanks for posting this question OP. I have a Kozy and am thinking of getting an EBMT but only because I can get it in silk with less of a wait. I
our Kozy and am finally figuring out how to use the straps so they don't irritate ds's legs. I am able to tie it like the EBMT (behind babys's back and then around to tie in front on me) which I have done a few times but under the bum works better comfort-wise IMO. I felt some back pain when wearing it ebmt style and none when wearing Kozy style.
