how normal is a little blood - maybe TMI

So I have a question about blood now and then, I never had it for my last to pregnancy. I usually see it sometimes after intercourse, it usually just shows up on the napkin when I wipe in the bathroom or you can see that it colored the semen. The other time I might see it is once in a while when I go to the bathroom to do the #2 and it is a time I had to push a little more(it is not constipation but when I ate something that didn't agree with me type of thing).

I am wondering how normal this is? I was wondering if it is placenta previa then should I see more blood? I am about 4 1/2 months pregnant. And it only happens during those times when I wipe, it is not much, a drop the most. Other than that I don't have any just show up on my underwear.

Any body experience something like this before?

TIA

There is increased blood flow to your uterus and the surrounding areas during pregnancy, and the skin can be much more delicate and sensitive, so it's quite possible that what you're seeing is just the result of microtearing from intercourse and other activities.

My experience with placenta previa involved bleeding that wasn't at all associated with intercourse or anything else - I'd be hanging out doing nothing, and suddenly I'd have a gush of blood. But not all previas are this way. If you're worried, it's definitely worth getting things checked out.

I've been having that too. I saw a thread recently about it where it turned out to be pretty common.

I've actually found that it all depends on the position. On hands and knees, no blood. Missionary position, definitely blood.
