Sleep problem

Thread Starter
I've been swaddling my 5 month old from the beginning. I found her face down today in her cradle, which was set at an incline due to reflux. So, I took the swaddle off and we're no longer using it, but I can't get her to sleep. Not only is she used to the swaddle, she's used to the incline. I'm not sure she'll EVER sleep. What should I do? Any advice? I'm terrified we're going to have a LONG night.

I'm sorry. My guess is it will be a long night. Just try to remember that you WILL get through it. When I stopped swaddling ds1 at 6 months, it took 10 long nights before he was able to sleep well without it. Ds2 did better; only a couple nights. He still sleeps in the swing due to reflux. All 3 of my last babies did. Is that possible for you? A friend suggested I just incline the crib mattress but I tried that with dd1 and she just turned herself around til she was head down! When ds2 isn't in the swing, he's co-sleeping/nursing. He has yet to sleep any time in a crib (no more than 1 1/2 hrs.) That said, he's still up every 1 1/2-2 hrs anyway. I do hope you find something that works. It's a hard and tiring transition.
