Need to find solid colored t-shirts for baby

I need to find long sleeved t-shirts in solid colors for my baby due in November. No onesies because we are mostly doing prefolds with wool pants this time around

I'd like for them to be heavier shirts than those standard Gerber cross-overs from Target, more like a regular shirt.

So, spam me the sites where I can find these, mamas! I'm lost.

Go to American Apparel, they're great and have a lot of colors. The only problem is that they start at 3-6 months. I'd say its a small 3-6 months, but if you are looking for something for a tiny newborn, you might want to stick to the Gerber cross over shirts in the meantime. As an example of the sizing, my 11.5lb 3 month old is wearing a 6-12 month shirt and its a little big, but not outrageous. It'll probably fit him perfectly when he weighs closer to 13lbs.

Or, if onesies are more readily available and cheaper, just cut off the bottom.

Oh, and I'd check for footed pants first. When I was looking for them with DD (since we had one pair and I really really really wanted more) I found that they tended to be in sets with long sleeved shirts.

Same prob-exact same situation! we love wool longies (i make them from old merino wool sweaters). i shop the thrift store regularly and have found a few great shirts, but still mostly onesies. It is especially hard to find plain baby clothes in nice rich colors!

DH just started dressing baby with the cute onsies (so many given to us even though we wanted shirts) OVER the wool longies! we think this is adorable, and it is a solid outfit that stays put : )

+1 for American Apparel. they do run a bit small, so if your baby was on the large side, it might work for nb.

Old Navy.

Yeah, another vote for american apparel. I find their stuff cheaper on amazon, though:

Good luck!

The Little Seed sells solid, yet bold, long sleeve tops for infants, and they're organic, I believe. Target started selling the brand, but they don't sell the t's in store- just onesies, pants, accessories. The rich colors are beautiful, and not cluttered with cutsie sayings, flowers, or sport balls...

their other stuff at Target:

I'm not positive that they come in newborn sizes but WalMart carries plain Garanimal long sleeve T's. I was excited to find them for $3 a piece in solid colors and thick cotton.

But I also love American Apparel shirts (with the little foldy corners. my ds has a huge head and his shirts tend to get stuck a lot! hehe).

Thanks for all the great ideas, mamas! Keep them coming! American Apparel via Amazon looks promising, I know their stuff is really nice quality (even though the sizing can be totally bizarre!) That little seed stuff is beautiful but so $$ for shirts that will be vomited on I'll see if I can find little Garanimal shirts

Happy Green Bee has a great clearance store, organic but Target prices, I think...

Zutano and American Apparell both wear well and stand up to washing. Zutano has a really easy fit. American Apparel runs small.
