warm pj's for big infant? he hates blankets ...

now that it's getting cooler here in the NE i need to figure out what kind of pj's to get DS. he's only 8 months old, and wears 9 or 12 month stuff depending on the brand.

he will not keep a blanket on him overnight so i need to figure out how to dress him warmly. he'll also pull socks off if given the chance, so footie pjs are best.

any ideas on what brands/styles might work? i've looked around amazon and some other websites and have some ideas, but getting personal opinions from moms' who've gone through it would be awesome.

Fleece one piece footed pajamas, maybe with a onesie underneath?

I have the same problem with my 14 mo old. He hates blankets, sheets, anything touching him or over him at night. As soon as he feels something over him, even if he's in a deep sleep, he twist and turns to get free. He'll need layers upon layers to keep warm this winter. I try to stay away from fleece because it makes him sweaty. What I really need are footy pjs made of down. :smile

Carters fleece footed PJs, I would get the 12 month, or 18 month.

Maybe have some cotton tight fitting pjs underneath to help keep baby from sweating?

We co-sleep, so I usually have my little one in a short sleeved shirt and wool cover. But he snuggles up and doesn't mind a blankie. I might put a pair of cotton jammies (like hannah andersons) on when it is winter.

Costco has organic cotton PJs that are just like the Hannah Anderssons!

i'm so glad it's not just me dealing with this! same thing - he can be in the deepest sleep but if i put a blanket on him, his legs start kicking and flailing to get rid of it. it wasn't a problem when he was in our bed or in his bassinet (i would drap the blanket over the sides to it was covering him, but not touching him). but, now that he's in his crib it's becoming a problem.

thank you all for the suggestions so far. i've been having trouble finding "boys" fleece footie pj's. i'm finding lots of girly stuff. it may come down to him wearing pinks and purples and flowers to bed.

What about a sleep sack? I don't know if that would be as annoying to him as a blanket, but it might work. Maybe someone has one you can try before you decide to buy?

We would double up with the smaller tighter gerber 'long underwear' type one piece jammies and socks with a The Children's Place fleece sleeper over the top.

nope, won't deal with a sleep sack and even as an itty bitty baby would wig out in them.

looks like he might be wearing lots of layers to bed soon.

nak-carters has lots of "boy" footie pajamas- i just got some at target and a bunch at a consignment sale. Ds is nearly 7 months old, was 29" and over 19 lbs at his 6 month checkup. He fits perfectly into 12 month size.

In that size, you should be able to find Carter's footed pj's lots of places. I also like Children's Place a lot - their pj's seem to run long so they fit my tall kids. DS did end up in pink and purple flowers occasionally but hey, it's night, so who cares. DD now has his old construction sheets and loves them.

oh, i can find plenty of boy footed pj's, just not warm fleece ones. i've checked a few online stores and seem to be striking out at all of them.
