Just wondering if anyone has a website or book or anything that compiles great kid-friendly affirmations? Or affirmations you are willing to share?

thanks!

I have an excellent book all about affirmations for kids! It's called "Nurturing Spirituality in Children" by Peggy Jenkins. Each page gives an affirmation, a lesson in understanding that affirmation, and materials needed for the lesson.

For example:
Suggested Affirmation: I enjoy looking beyond the body to the inner person.

Materials: A picture in an attractive frame. Place a sheet of paper over the picture.

Lesson:
How silly we would be if we visited an art gallery and concentrated only on the frames rather than the masterpieces within them. That is what we do when we focus on our bodies rather than on the love and spirit that is within them. The masterpiece the Creator has set within the temporary frames of our bodies is what we want to think about. We are much more than our bodies."
Another analogy you may use is that of a space suit. "Just as space suits would be needed if we were to visit another planet, we need to put on a space suit when we visit this planet. It's called a body. Our bodies are not the real us. We existed before being in our bodies, and we will exist when we leave our bodies.
The children may act out being visitors in an art gallery admiring frames or being astronauts choosing and putting on space suits. Remind them that they want to look for the light, or the spiritual qualities, in others and not be caught up in the frames or space suits.

Great book! Filled with lessons and affirmations. You could tweak them if you want, or use them as inspiration for your own. I can't wait until my dd is old enough to incorporate these.

I just found this web site, which looks pretty cool - check it out: http://www.d365.org/todaysdevotion/

"d365.org, a daily online devotional series, was created and is produced by Passport, Inc. Passport is a student ministry organization focused on creating meaningful experiences and resources for students. From Youth and Children's camps, to international awareness and youth leader training events, Passport, Inc. gives students a chance to see and experience their world in new ways.

d365.org is sponsored by three denominational partners: the Congregational Life office of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, the Youth and Young Adult Ministries of the Presbyterian Church (USA), The Program Center for Lifelong Christian Formation of The Episcopal Church."
