Degenerative discs.

So, I'm 21 now and I have had chronic back pain my whole life. I got my first CT scan at 17 and was told my bottom disc was gone and that I had spondylothesis. I had a CT at 19 and was told that my bottom two discs were gone. I had a CT scan today and am missing 3 discs. I'm losing about a disc a year. I have a meeting on the 13th to discuss treatment options, but I've tried most everything already. PT didn't work, pressure point injections were minimally helpful, non-narcotic pain relief is a joke for me, and narcotics just temporarily fix the problem.

If anyone has any experience with a similar problem, what did you try that works?

Also, does anyone know what happens if you keep losing discs? I'm only 21, and I'm scared because I have a 4 year old and a baby to take care of!

Have you tried chiropractic? I would advise you to find a good chiro ASAP. You will want someone who can help you correct the biomechanical problems that have led you to these problems thus far. 21 is very young to have three degenerated discs. You most likely will have some postural issues that need to be addressed and that will require lots of core strengthening.

I would second the chiro visit. My dh has degenerative disk disease and pinched nerves because of it. He has had it for years. Chiro adjustments have helped him quite a bit. A good natural health pracitioner can get to the bottom of things as well. Medical doctors will not be able to stop this as far as I know.

I'll third chiropractic. I'd also do bioplasma.

Oh and I forgot to mention an inversion table! Very important in relaxing the spine and helping to pump the fluids and correct some possible problems.

YES! Brilliance. Definitely an inversion table.

I am totally willing to try a chiro. My concern is just the cost. I am very low-income and have no health insurance. I would love to stop hurting but am afraid I wouldn't be able to pay for the visits. I'm assuming I'd have to go at least once a week.

What's the bioplasma thing?
