hi, I was wondering if anyone has waited until this age to vax their little one and what their experiences were. less reactions? better tolerance? that is what I am praying for.

thanks for any insight!

I waited till a few years after that. No reactions at all. Everything went very smoothly. With the help of a chocolate bar after every shot...

Oh, no judgment at all. I wish I'd done it earlier, to be honest.

DD, a little over 3, just received her first shot. I am starting the dtap series for her. So she had one of the first 4 of that series, but no other immunization. She wasn't pleased to say the least! She cried but only for a bit. Due to her age though and memory at this age, she won't be pleased I'm sure when we go back to the dr's office in the future!

That is about when we started as well. So far we have had no problems with either kid.

Hi, I no longer vaccinate, but usually respond when I see this question. I did vax selectively/delay until my then 5 year old began his regression into autism after his second MMR shot. His regression was really, really late (5 yrs old) and timed with the vaccine....

He was mildly ill when he received this shot at 5 years old and it was just too much for him. So, my advice would be not to be lulled into a false sense of security because your child is older. Cancel appointments when your child is sick, go slowly....watch for reactions. Probably - probably, you won't have difficulties, but if your kid is prone to a vaccine reaction, for whatever reasons, delaying won't guarantee safety. However, I should say, I believe if my son had been vaccinated on schedule, his difficulties would probably have been much more severe.

I am sorry to hear that. did he have any other signs earlier in life before the second mmr?
