My daughter gave me a black eye!

It was an accident, but I still have a big purple shiner! As I was putting her to bed the other night we were snuggling on her bed in the dark. She sat up to grab her doll and then flopped down onto her pillow. Except she missed, and the back of her head landed right on my eye socket. It looks terrible today. At least it's mostly on my upper eyelid. Another teacher at school said at first glance it looked like I attempted to put on eye shadow and failed miserably!

So I've been wondering... who else has suffered injury at the hands (or heads!) of their darling children?

I've been covered in bruises before from both playing with my kiddo and her getting angry at me not knowing yet how exactly one should deal with frustrations....
I joked about how I couldn't leave the house or people would get the wrong idea about my husband :

She also once got me square in the eye with a corner of a book. I mean literally in the eye... I couldn't cloes it fast enough. I had a nice little red spot on my eyeball from that....

OMG i have been whacked by my son's bowling ball head more times than I can count. It's just plain dangerous. The worst though is when he hit me in the chin from below. I was bruised for quite a while.

my poor nose has been hit a few times from ages 2 to 4. hard enough by accident that it hurt for a month and gave me a bruise.

today i am glad we've come close but it hasnt happened. if i were to get a shiner my dd would have been horrified and would never forgive herself. she gets really upset if she causes me any pain, even if its an accident. a new thing as a 8 year old.

its always been a body part though. never a thing. mostly her elbow hitting me.
