Azithromycin while bfing & baby on it as well?

Hi my little man (15 mnths) has been sick & so his Dr put him on azithromycin Friday. Today I finally broke down and took myself to the Dr, and she put me on the Z pack which is also azithromycin. I mentioned the breastfeeding and she said it was fine, but when I was reading the materials at home it warned that the antibiotic is excreted into breastmilk. So my concern is if this is dangerous since my son is already being treated with this medication? Will he be getting too much/enough to be dangerous? I called the Drs office and had to leave a message, but of course they never got back to me I feel awful and really need to be taking this medication but I am worried as to the safety!

Contact the infant risk center tomorrow. I would continue taking the medication until you find out otherwise. Those pamphlets are meant to cover the manufacturers butt.
