quick needle ?

When sewing together a woven and a knit cotton is it best to use a ball point needle?? TIA!!

I have had a lot of trouble sewing together a woven and a knit and now only do this either by hand or after applying woven interfacing to the back of the knit.
IME, a ball point needle will not matter.

I use a regular needle, and put the knit on top with lots of pins.

You might want to try it with some scraps, regular needle vs. ballpoint and woven on top vs knit on top to see what combo works best with your fabrics and your machine.
