Raw milk in pregnancy

Hi All! I was drinking raw milk every day before I got pregnant. I'm now 21 weeks pregnant and haven't had raw milk since I found out. I really miss it and am craving it! I drink organic milk now but it's homogenized. I can't seem to find non-homogenized at least.

What is your opinion on drinking raw milk while pregnant? Any suggestions? Thanks.

If you trust your source and are confident about cleanliness, I would drink it. I plan to consume raw dairy, raw fish and raw liver next time I'm pregnant.

There is a local organic dairy where I can get raw milk so that would be the best choice. I was getting raw milk from an older farmer that's been milking for years but he's not "certified organic". Being pregnant I would go with the organic.

I drank raw milk when I was pregnant, and will again. If you aren't sure, talk to them about their processing.

Check out Nina Planks book Real Food for Mother and Baby. She talks about this as well. I agree with other people though if you trust your source drink it! It's good for you and your baby!

I've drunk raw milk throughout my pregnancy---I love it! But everyone has their own personal comfort levels as far as the non-recommended foods. I drink 2-3 sips of wine per week (I didn't until the 2nd trimester) and drink raw milk, but I would not eat raw fish or eggs. So each to their own

I have a very trusted source and drank raw milk every day I was pregnant. Many days that's pretty much all I felt like eating.

I drank raw milk during my pregnancies. I trust my sources enough to give it to my children so why not keep drinking it during pregnancy, kwim? It was very beneficial for me and my baby to do so.

I also drank raw milk through my pregnancy and would do it again. My MW suggested I didn't, that was the only thing I did that she wasn't on board with. I just trusted my gut!

I contacted the raw organic dairy where I was thinking of buying milk/yogurt/quark etc. They've been in business for 4 years and get monthly bacterial testing etc and have never failed once according to the owner. That sounds pretty good to me. I'm just sick of drinking this ultra pasteurized milk!

I drank it with my first pregnancy, and so far I haven't had any this pregnancy simply because I only used it slightly warmed for homemade mochas, and I can't stomach coffee right now, but once I can handle it again, I'll be drinking it again!

I trust my source, so I drank it throughout my last pregnancy.

Is your organic milk also ultra-pasteurized? If so, BAD! The homogoniziation is worse than being pasteurized imo, but pasteurization is not far behind in my book!

I think you and your baby are missing out on important nutrients by not drinking [trusted] raw milk while pregant.

ETA: I see you are getting some...enjoy!!!

I drank raw milk confidently throughout my first three pregnancies. With my fourth I saw/heard about listeriosis from raw milk three times, so I did not drink it during the fourth. (Generally, if I am exposed to a thought on three separate occasions I believe it is an inner voice/God's voice telling me something I need to hear.) With my fifth and sixth pregnancies I drank it without any qualms.
