well, after deciding this morning that i NEEDED to eat twice baked potatoes stuffed with sour cream, bacon, and green onions topped with cheese, going out to buy all the ingredients, coming home and spending 2.5 hours making them...i promptly decided i did not want to eat them at all.

*sigh*

i did however eat a bunch of bacon along the way

I'm having aversions to fish and beef. With the exception of tuna sashimi. I think the fish aversion has more to do with the smell. I cannot even THINK about potatoes. UGH, seriously, I just dry heaved. Also, listening to DH and DD crunch on Ritz crackers makes me want to puke.

I am CRAVING pizza. OMG, what I wouldn't give for a steaming hot slice of pepperoni and mushroom pizza. My ILs are coming for a visit on Friday, and they are taking us out for pizza. But, seriously, I saw a commercial for Totino's pizza rolls (which I've never had!), and I told DH I needed them RIGHT NOW. He didn't go and get them, which is for the best. But, man, I will be dreaming of pizza until Friday. I think as long as there's a ton of cheese on it, I can probably do with putting whatever else on. So, I'll probably pile on the veggies.

I keep alternating between a sweet tooth and salt craving. Some days, all I want are salty peanuts, but then today all I wanted was strawberry poptarts.

I'm sorry to laugh, but it is kinda funny.

I've been craving hamburgers, and not the fast food kind but a really good restaurant hamburger. One day two weeks ago I HAD to have Pasta Alfredo. It was wonderful, but I couldn't eat it again, and my MIL ate the leftovers for me.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that is having these issues. I really can't eat so much...I would have to gag it down and I just can't do that.

something i'm finding relatively easy to eat in the mornings (though right now i am totally disgusted thinking about any food) and am even craving a bit are bananas! i also ate an apple the other day for the first time in quite awhile, i'm just not an apple person really. it was so delicious though! not at ALL into sweets...totally grossed out thinking about eating sugar.

salmon - can't stand it at all right now or tomato sauce

New one discovered as I was trying to plan lunch - raw chicken. BLECH!

I currently hate the smell of most food. I have to remind myself that although I think it smells terrible I must eat. I ate an egg sandwich finally today. I've been avoiding eggs for a week because they smell awful to me but I cooked them in the microwave so that I didn't have to add oil. Oil is gross to me right now.

Raw tomatoes make me sick, most veggies make me sick. I only like raw carrots and some lettuce salad. I really love cheese right now. Cream cheese is YUMMY!

I gave up on my "candida diet" a few weeks ago and felt much better after that. I still am really nauseous but I don't feel like I'm starving to death all the time now. I don't recommend that diet after doing some research deeper into it. Eating healthy foods and trying to balance them is best but I'll worry more about balance when I'm in my second trimester. For now, I'm happy when I can find something that doesn't make me feel totally gross.

I am having the same cravings as I did the last pregnancy - eggs, cheese, salty foods, toast, more cheese, more eggs. I think last pregnancy I had two eggs w/ cheese every night for dinner.

I've been eating a banana with orange juice for breakfast and I love it! Also bought some plums and peaches. I want "fresh" things. But I will eat just about anything lol
post #13 of 46
I normally don't like tomato things but I am loving tomatoes right now. And fruit! Especially juicy fruit, like oranges, grapes, pineapple, mango. Narm.

I want steak and pepper sauce like now lol
what are the exact dangers of eating under cooked beef cos i prefer my steak bloody?
You have a higher chance of food poisoning with undercooked beef, because it the internal temperature doesn't get high enough to kill any bacteria that could be lurking. The problem with eating raw/undercooked meat in pregnancy is the severe dehydration that would/could occur if you were vomiting, having diarrhea, etc that comes along with food poisoning.

I like my steaks medium, but I get them medium well while pregnant.

food sounds good.. until I smell it then I almost can't eat it at all...... cooking is torture

I haven't craved anything yet.. mostly I just try to think of 'good' things for me to eat.. and see if I can force them down after I've smelled them. I told DH recently that if I couldn't smell eating would be much easier right now LOL!

I am craving grilled cheese sandwiches with veggie pepperoni on garlic sourdough bread..

If I had some thick cut, nitrate free non fatty pepper bacon.. OMG, That would be even better then the veggie pepperoni. I havent had bacon in ages and it sounds good. I just dont like cooking it because it smells up the whole house. I guess I could do it outside on the grill burner though

Mmm a big crusty Bacon and tomato sandwich with basil aioli...

Im also really craving Thai iced tea with coconut milk instead of cream.

Ive been craving chicken noodle soup and eating on a big pot I made for the last couple days...

Ive also been craving one of my mom's only dishes she ever made that didnt come out of a box - chicken broccoli rice casserole complete with cream of mushroom soup and velveeta

And banana pudding with nilla wafers

As for aversions..
sweet things
red meat
stinky cheeses (I normally love them)
eggs

I didn't know you got food poisoning from beef, i'll just do without then don't like it well done.

I'm not really craving things as much as I had been. Most everything is tasting pretty good to me, except I still have a huge aversion to any kind of fish. One weird thing for me is I've been loving low sodium V8 juice. I'm normally not a juice drinker, especially vegetable juice but it's been really refreshing and gives me an energy boost afterwards. Weird.
