any great recipes for a beanless chili??

I am pregnant and craving chili but beans and I don't get along. (which is a whole other story for another day... )

I'm afraid to just try any recipe and omit the beans, since they might have something to do with the consistency and I like a thick chili!

Any ideas? TIA!

I don't put beans in my chili and it's always at hit here. I use:
1 onion
1 clove garlic
2 carrots
1 bell pepper--red or green
about a pound of ground buffalo
a small can of tomato sauce
a 14 oz can of fire roasted diced tomatoes
a half of a bottle of beer
spices--chili powder, cumin, salt and chipotle powder

I top it with shredded cheese at the table and make cornbread muffins to go with it. DD and DH both love that dinner.

I only put beans in my chili if they're requested, or i'm trying to stretch the budget. I know i've posted my recipe before, but you'd have to search for it. I can't do it from my ipod.

puffingirl - this sounds awesome - thank you, can't wait to try! love ground buffalo.

cristeen - I'll try searching for it! I have to worst luck searching for things around here, but I think I'm just "search function ignorant" or something...

Go to Search>Advanced Search, put chili in the first box and my user name in the 2nd box. At the bottom left, ask it to show you "posts" and not "threads". You should be able to glance through and see which ones have an ingredient list. I can't get near a computer until DS goes to bed.

Yeah, the regular search function doesn't work very well. But even advanced search is limited to one word. It's the rest of the options that make it so useful. If you need a really complex search, then you have to use Google Advanced.

Let me know if you didn't find it, and I can dig it up now that he's asleep.
