Latin Learners- What is your kid doing today?

Today, my 9yo ds finished up ch. 16 in the Latin for Children A workbook and started reading ch. 17. Then he watched the lesson for ch. 17 on the DVD that comes with it. My 7yo dd watched part of the DVD lesson with him.

In a little bit, I'll probably let him play FlashDash Latin online.

What is your Latin Learner doing?

Nik just finished up Chapter 9 of Song School Latin. He's been doing some Flash Dash Latin and review on Quia, too.

Good question. Michael (11) took a Latin 1 class in co-op last year. He did great as long as he was interested and then he lost interest. This year he is working through Matin Latin, which I think is mostly review for him so far. He's been doing it pretty much on his own and I haven't checked in with him for a few days. Thanks for the reminder!

We just did a derivatives page from LfC A chapter 6. I didn't make the boys make up their own sentences to write; instead of made some up out loud and just discussed the derivatives and usage. We also did the chapter 6 chanting from the CD.

Today we did oral review in the car

She is on Lesson 4 in Song School Latin and it seems really easy for her and she's retaining a lot from it. This is our first year with Latin and she is newly 7.

I miss SSL and am looking forward to doing it again with ds#3 (I'm hoping I'll still love it with Little Bean does it!). We still use the Monkey Match cards to play memory and sometimes pop off with a song or two from memory.

Today the older two did the "quiz" page in Chapter 6 of Latin for Children; we don't do it as a quiz though, but as a way to review together. Thankfully today ds#1 slowed down a bit so ds#2 didn't freak out if ds#1 was a word or two ahead of him.
