If you have a child with size 5 shoes....

....would you mind doing a gigantic favor for me by measuring his/her foot from the tip of the toe to the back of the heel (in inches)?

My Godson is turning one this weekend. I know he wears size 5 shoes and he's just started to walk, I ordered a pair of shoes for him. I'd like to knit little socks to go with them but none of my kids wear that size...usually they serve as my sock models.
