My DD has constant mucous issues. She always either has a nose full of boogers, and/or snot running out. She also ALWAYS has mushy poops, although she only nurses 1-2 times in a 24 hour period. She often has a red bum, too. So, I suspect an allergy...maybe dairy? Also suspecting eggs? She drinks almond milk and water, mostly, with a little breastmilk, usually before bed and in the early morning.
Here is a sample of her daily diet, if that helps:
Breakfast:
-Nurse around 530 am, sometimes upon waking at 8ish
-a spinach & cheese omelet or oatmeal with berries
-Sometimes a little bit of green smoothie (spinach, mango, banana, pineapple) along with it
Snacks throughout the day:
-Boiled eggs (only white part...she refuses the yolks
)
-Mozzarella cheese sticks
-Roasted chickpeas
-Various beans, mostly lima or green beans, but sometimes black, Navy, or kidney beans
-Various veggies: Peas, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, zuchinni, squash, sweet potatoes
-Various fruits: banana, kiwi, peach, plum, nectarine, blueberries, raspberries, rarely pineapple/oranges/other citrus/strawberries as I already know she is sensitive to those. She LOVES them so I occasionally (once a week or so) give her small amounts.
-Tofu
-Pistachios
Occasional snacks (1-3x a week when we are out & she is hungry):
-seaweed
-crackers with cheese
-cheerios
-dried fruit
Dinner:
-Whatever we are having--usually a little meat, lots of veggies, no grains
-Nurse before bed
Should I just cut out dairy and/or eggs and see what happens? Or do more of an elimination diet? Could *raw* dairy/cheese make a difference?
Since she is nursing once or twice a day, I guess I should cut out dairy too? I am grain & legume free, & try to avoid soy because all of those things make me feel awful...my main dairy intake is occasional cheese, and I usually have heavy whipping cream several times a week, but it's very important to me (my only dessert option!)
